MARKET SUMMARY FOR 05 OCTOBER 2015

The Sensex surged 564 points or 2.15 percent to 26785 and the NSE Nifty jumped 168 points or 2.12 percent to 8119. The broader markets underperformed benchmarks as the Midcap gained 1.8 percent and Smallcap rose 1.6 percent. It was a spectacular start to the week as the Sensex surged more than 600 points intraday Monday and the Nifty surpassed 8100-mark, tracking strong global cues.

MARKET SUMMARY FOR 01 OCTOBER 2015

The Sensex relinquished most of its gains to close marginally higher at 26227 and the Nifty ended marginally down at 7946. For most part of the day the larger market traded flat-to-positive although it opened by testing the 8000 level as overnight US stocks ended higher.The Sensex on Thursday closed 66.12 points or 0.25 per cent higher at 26,220 from the previous day's close,and The Sensex touched a high of 26,431.80 points and a low of 26,168.71 points in the intra-day trade mainly on weak manufacturing data for the month of September.
