TOP LOOSERS: State Bank of India, Sun Pharma, Vedanta, & Tata Motors
On Friday market was moving on all time high.. the Sensex retreated on Friday owing to profit-booking in recent gainers, including Reliance Industries was down by 1.13 %, State Bank of India and ICICI Bankwas down by  1.32 % amid weak global cues. Today SBI  was in focus. The bank attributed the net loss to lower trading income and significant mark-to-market losses due to hardening of bond yields and higher provision on account of wage revision and enhancement in the gratuity ceiling.

The benchmark indices ended at their record highs on Thursday on expiry of July Futures and Options (F&O) contracts.The S&P BSE Sensex that breached 37,000 mark for the first time ever to hit an intra-day high of 37,027 levels, ended a tad lower at 36,985 levels, up 126 points. The broader Nifty50 index settled at 11,167, up 35 points. The 50-share index had surged to a high of 11,185 levels in intra-day deals. Analysts at HDFC Securities expect the Nifty o move higher in the August series. Investors, who were shunning small-cap stocks on fears that the Index may fall, they say, are now likely to be more confident of the moves of the broader indices and start investing in the small-and mid-cap stocks."Once the Nifty closes above the 11,171 mark, expect this to become the new support level for the index. The next resistance could come in at 11395 – 11,400 levels, a 100% extension level of swing seen from 9,952 (bottom of March 23) to 10,929 (top of May 15) and from 10,929 to 10,417 (bottom of May 23).

BSE Sensex ended at record closing high of 36,548, up 282 points, surpassing previous closing high of 36,283 on January 29, 2018 while the broader Nifty50 index settled at 11,023, up 75 points.In intra-day, the S&P BSE Sensex hit a record high of 36,699.53 levels surpassing its previous high of 36,444 recorded on January 29, 2018 in intra-day deals led by gains in RIL, Wipro HDFc and L&T, up in the range of 1.9 per cent to 5 per cent.Among individual stocks, RIL's m-cap crossed $100-bn mark in intra-day trade today, after hitting a new high. It became the second Indian company to cross the milestone after TCS.Infosys, however ended nearly 2% lower, ahead of its first quarter (Q1FY19) results, due tomorrow.Nifty PSU Bank index was the biggest sectoral gainer of the day, up over 1%, with Bank od Baroda and SBI gaining 2.2% and 1.1% respectively.

Oil-to-telecom behemoth Reliance IndustriesNSE 0.62 % (RIL) scaled fresh all-time high of Rs 1,011.70 in the afternoon trade on Thursday. The scrip has been on a rising  since the beginning of the year, rallying over 10 per cent so far. 

The company, owned by India’s richest person Mukesh Ambani, in April reported a net profit of Rs 9,435 crore for the fourth quarter ended March. It had posted a net profit of Rs 8,046 crore in the same period a year ago.

The benchmark indices ended lower after the US Federal Reserve raised interest rates and took a more hawkish tone in forecasting a slightly faster pace of tightening for the rest of the year.The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 35,600, down 139 points while the broader Nifty50 index settled at 10,808, down 49 points.
Among sectoral indices, the Nifty IT index ended 1.5% lower led by a fall in shares of MindTree, Tech Mahindra and Tata Consultancy Services.
Shares of Ashok Leyland rose 2.3 percent intraday Thursday as its NBFC Hinduja Leyland Finance has filed IPO papers with SEBI.

BULLISH STOCKS :TCS AND INFOSYS

Among sectoral indices, the Nifty IT index ended over 1% higher on Wednesday led by a rise in the shares of TCS and Infosys
The markets pared their day's gains to end flat on Wednesday as investors eyed the outcome of US Federal Reserve's monetory policy meeting scheduled later in the day.

The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 35,739, up 47 points while the broader Nifty50 index settled at 10,857, up 14 points.

Among individual stocks, top software services exporter Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) gained 3% earlier today after the company said that its board will consider a proposal for buyback of equity shares of the company, at its meeting on June 15, 2018. The stock eventually settled 2.43 per cent higher at Rs 1824.20 on the BSE
On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the stock hit a high of Rs 1,278.85, up 1.6%, and is slightly away from its all-time high of Rs 1,279.30 touched on June 3, 2016.

BSE Sensex closed lower by 19.41 points, or 0.05%, to 35,443.67, while the Nifty 50 ended unchanged 10,767.65, down 0.70 points, 0.01%. Tata Steel has placed an aggressive bid of 6,000 crore to acquire Kolkata-based Usha Martin, a specialty steel producer with a production capacity of 1 million tonnes in Jamshedpur. The promoters of Usha Martin are selling the steel business to pare the Group’s debt.
“Tata Steel had a meeting with Usha Martin officials in Kolkata on Wednesday and in all probability they will outbid JSW Steel, which has placed a bid of 5,500 crore,” said sources close to the development.

BSE Sensex and NSE’s Nifty 50 rose for a second straight day on Thursday led by gains in financial stocks a day after the Reserve Bank of India hiked key interest rates. RBI’s monetary policy committee voted unanimously to raise policy rates by 25 basis points to 6.25%, the first such hike in more than four years, as inflation concerns mounted.
 BSE Sensex closed higher by 284.20 points, or 0.81%, to 35,463.08, while the Nifty 50 rose 83.70 points, or 0.78%, to close at 10,768.35. Outperforming the benchmark, MidCap and SmallCap gained 1.40% and 1.96%, respectively.All the sectoral indices on BSE, except consumer durables, closed higher led by realty (2.77%), basic materials (1.61%), industrials (1.51%) and metal (1.44%).

Monetary Policy positive: RBI raises repo rate by 25 bps


Bank stocks fell soon after the RBI’s Monetary Policy Committee  choose to hike its key policy rate, the repo rate, by 25 basis points to 6.25 per cent, in its second bi-monthly meeting for the fiscal.
Among Nifty Bank stocks, ICICI Bank was trading down by 0.83 per cent at Rs 281.75, HDFC Bank 0.76 per cent at Rs 2,048, Axis Bank 0.55 per cent at Rs 528 and YES Bank 0.52 per cent at Rs 335.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd climbed as much as 2.5 per cent to Rs 485.35, and was among the top percentage gainers on the NSE index.
