At close, the Sensex was down 162.03 points or 0.39% at 41464.61, while Nifty was down 55.50 points or 0.45% at 12,226.70. Zee Entertainment, Bharti Infratel, Asian Paints, Eicher Motors and Axis Bank were among major losers on the Nifty, while gainers were Sun Pharma, TCS, HCL Technologies, GAIL and Infosys.In the Nifty index, JSW Steel (up 2.50 %) , Tata Steel (up 1.99 %) , Hindalco Industries (up 1.66%) , UltraTech Cement (up 1.02 %) and Vedanta (up 0.94%)were among the top gainers.

Sensex rose 52 points to 41,306 while the Nifty50 ended with gains of 14 points at 12,182. It hit an intraday high of 12,222 levels.Indian market witnessed profit booking at higher levels and both Sensex and Nifty pared morning gains and closed near their intraday lows on Wednesday.Upsides looks limited, for time being, traders are advised to avoid buying the dip and remain short with a stop above 12290 levels on closing basis where as fresh shorting  can be considered below 12150 levels, Top Nifty gainers: Vedanta, NTPC, Power Grid and Adani PortsTop Nifty losers: Zee Entertainment, IndusInd Bank, Eicher Motors and Titan Company.

Sensex ended down 304.26 points or 0.73 percent at 41253.74 while the Nifty shed 87.40 points or 0.71 percent at 12168.50. NTPC, Tata Motors and Sun Pharma are the top gainers while Tech Mahindra, Bajaj Auto and Reliance Industries are the top losers.Among the sectors, the Auto and IT index fell the most.  YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, SBI, RIL. SBI (Rs 702.26 crore) was leading the pack of most active stocks in value terms. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday unveiled Rs 102 trillion of infrastructure projects that will be implemented in the next five years as part of the government's spending push in the infrastructure sector.

Indian indices ended with little change in the volatile session on December 30 with Nifty above 12,250.At close, the Sensex was down 17.14 points at 41,558.00, while the Nifty was up 10.10 points at 12,255.90.  Tata Motors, Eicher Motors, UPL, Vedanta and Hero MotoCorp were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Yes Bank, ICICI Bank, SBI, IOC and Axis Bank.Among sectors, except PSU bank all other indices are ended in the green led by the auto, metal, FMCG and pharma.
