Today's market session
has ended on negative note for the
third consecutive day. The Sensex
fell 156 points to settled at 35853 and
the Nifty dropped 57 points and settled
at 10738, amid
heavy selling in select blue-chip counters such as L&T, ICICI Bank, TCS and
HDFC twins. pharma stocks bucked the trend and
closed over half a per cent higher. The YES Bank stock rose in trade
today after the private lender appointed Brahm Dutt as non-executive part-time
chairman to its board. The stock rose up to 7.64% to 198 level on the BSE. On
Nifty, the stock rose to 198 level intra day compared to the previous close of
184.25.The stock has lost 42.37% during the last one year. The Infosys stock
rose in trade today after the IT firm raised its revenue growth guidance for
2018-19. The stock opened with a gain of 3.26% and rose 3.70% to an
intra day high of 709 level. The stock has been gaining for the last four days
and risen 4.42% during the period. It has gained 29.34% during the last
one year.
Infosys
(3%), YES Bank (0.76%), Sun Pharma (0.36%) and HUL( 0.04%) were the top Sensex
gainers. Top Sensex losers were Vedanta (1.60%), Axis Bank (1.55%) and
ITC (1.32%).
