MARKET SUMMARY FOR 16 SEP 2015
The
Sensex is up 131.55 points or 0.5 percent at 25837.48 and the Nifty is up 30.05
points or 0.4 percent at 7859.15. About 1076 shares have advanced, 957 shares
declined, and 77 shares are unchanged. Hero MotoCorp, Sun Pharma, Bajaj
Auto, Bharti Airtel and Axis Bank are top gainers while BHEL, L&T, NTPC,
Hindalco and Tata Steel. Technically it was an inside day for
this index as its range was encompassed within the range of the previous day.
Nifty future opened on a weak note and failed to cross the previous day high in
the ensuing rally. The high reached in the early session was not crossed in
subsequent rallies. The market turned range bound and there was a sharp selloff
in the latter part of the session but it held on to the 7800 region. A weak
pull back in the end of session helped it close off the intraday low.
