Smooth
start to December series...Nifty back above 7900
After
a poor November series, indices have started off the December series on a
smooth note. Equity market ended with smart gains on Friday ignoring negative
cues from Asian and European markets. The possibility of a
breakthrough on the GST bill buoyed investor sentiments at the start of the
December F&O series. Sensex ended the day 169 points, or 0.65 per
cent, higher at 26,128 while the Nifty50 closed at 7,942, up 59 points or 0.75
per cent. The outlook is a positive start.
The indices could swing later in the day especially towards the end on account
of F&O expiry. Nifty Future displayed
strength on the day of expiration of the November derivatives and closed the
day in the positive. The 7940 region is likely to offer some resistance and
once this region is taken out, fresh momentum is likely and the index may then
rally to the level of 7963 before making an attempt at the 8000 region. The
7880-7900 may now be considered a good support region and a decisive breach of
this zone could lead to retest of the earlier supports. 7800-7775 is an
important support zone and weakness will be signaled if breached. 7725 is the
key support now and a break of this level will lead to panic offloading.
