The Sensex was down 70.99 points at 40,938.72, while Nifty was down 26 points at 12,060.70Nifty consolidates in a tight band as Bulls take a break. Markets traded in an extremely narrow band however, . the index scales to new high expect the index to scale higher towards 12,400 zone on the upside. Overall trend continues to remain bullish. Support at 11,980-11,900 & resistance at 12,150-12,400.. I expect the upcoming year to be a good for equity investments,The top gainers from the Nifty index are Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services, GAIL India, HCL Tech and HDFC while the top losers include Grasim Industries, Vedanta, ITC, Adani Ports and JSW Steel.
