There was a strong weekly expiry in nifty
in today's market. Nifty climbed 83 points to closeat 11215, while the
Sensex climbed 269 points to close at 38140. The market was strongly
contributed by RIL, HDFC Bank, ITC. There was also a good purchase in midcap
stocks. Except IT, all other sectors of the Nifty have closed in the green in
the index. Bank Nifty closed 201 points at 23084. Bank Nifty closed at the edge
for the sixth consecutive day.Gains on the Nifty were led by Eicher Motors
which ended the day with gains of 4.9%. Reliance Industries and ICICI Bank were
the major contributors to the Nifty upside, ending with gains of 3.6% each.
Today Pharma stocks was outperformed ending higher by 2%. Auto stocks&
Realty were the other top gainers, ending with gains of 1.2%&1.4%
respectively.
