The Sensex and Nifty closed higher today after inflation rate plummeted to an 18-month low, raising optimism that the Reserve Bank of India could ease monetary policy next month, as the economy faces a manufacturing slowdown and weak growth in the farm sector.

While the Sensex closed 465 points higher at 36,318, Nifty ended 149 points  at 10,886 .Shares of Yes bank were up 5 % at Rs 205  on Tuesday, extending its Monday’s 6 per cent rally, amid reports that Deutsche Bank’s India CEO Ravneet Singh Gill is in race for the top job at India’s fourth largest private sector bank. Shares of infosys it a three-month high of Rs 727, up 4% on Tuesday, extending its Monday’s 2.5 per cent gain on the BSE, after the software services firm increased FY19 constant currency  revenue growth guidance to 8.5-9 %from 6-8 % earlier. The company has maintained its EBIT (earnings before interest and tax) margin guidance range at 22-24 per cent. Shares of jet airways rose as much as 6 % to Rs 312 in early trade Tuesday after various media reports suggested that etihad airways  plans to increase its stake in the cash strapped airline. etihad airways currently owns a 24 per cent stake  in  the debt-laden airline.

YES Bank (3.86%), Infosys (3.66%) and Reliance Industries (3.02%) were the top Sensex gainers.

Top Sensex losers were Maruti (0.72%), ICICI Bank (0.23%) and PowerGrid (0.03%).

Today's market  session has ended on negative note for the third consecutive day. The Sensex fell 156 points to settled  at 35853 and the Nifty  dropped 57 points and settled at 10738, amid heavy selling in select blue-chip counters such as L&T, ICICI Bank, TCS and HDFC twins. pharma stocks bucked the trend and closed over half a per cent higher. The YES Bank stock rose in trade today after the private lender appointed Brahm Dutt as non-executive part-time chairman to its board. The stock rose up to 7.64% to 198 level on the BSE. On Nifty, the stock rose to 198 level intra day compared to the previous close of 184.25.The stock has lost 42.37% during the last one year. The Infosys stock rose in trade today after the IT firm raised its revenue growth guidance for 2018-19.  The stock opened with a gain of 3.26% and rose 3.70% to an  intra day high of 709 level. The stock has been gaining for the last four days and risen 4.42% during the period.  It has gained 29.34% during the last one year.

Infosys (3%), YES Bank (0.76%), Sun Pharma (0.36%) and HUL( 0.04%) were the top Sensex gainers.  Top Sensex losers were Vedanta (1.60%), Axis Bank (1.55%) and ITC (1.32%).

We are expecting broadly good result of MINDTREE . The MINDTREE  will announce its Q3 results on Jan 16, 2019. After showing correction from the 200 EMA on daily chart, now stock is trading in short term recovery phase, it is   moving average   in the past week with the crossing of the support level of 795 as the stock is managing to sustain below the level of 820. One may get the targets of 860,880 in the stock with the stop loss of 800. MINDTREE  is currently trading at Rs837.55, Up  by Rs 23 or 2.87% from its previous closing of Rs 814 on the NSE. Today's market  session has ended on negative. The sesex 106 points to settled at 36107,while nifty settled 10822, down 34 points.The Sensex and Nifty opened lower in trade today after uncertainty over the outcome of China-US trade talks cast a pall over Asian markets as both sides kept mum about what lies ahead .The show stopper of today's intraday trade was VA Tech Wabag that emerged top gainers among all listed stocks with a huge appreciation of around 15 % followed by Linde India, RCF, HCC and GET&D with the rise in their prices by around 9 %, 6.5 %, 6.3 % and 6.1 % respectively. Market will react to the TCS results in early trade on Friday and then anxiety of another IT major, Infosys results would take over. In short, IT pack would lead the market in the next session.

Tata Motors (1.34%), YES Bank (0.78%) and NTPC (0.89%) were the top gainers.

Top losers were IndusInd Bank (2.39%), Axis Bank (1.01%), and HDFC (0.67%).

Wednesday's session has ended on positive note .The sensex ended at 36213, up 232 points, while the Nifty settled at 10855, up 53 points . The Infosys stock rose in early trade after the second-largest IT  company  said its board would consider a buyback programme and payment of special dividend, among other proposals, at its meeting on January 11. The  stock was the top gainer on both Sensex and Nifty.  The stock rose up to 2.81% in opening trade to 688.70 compared to the previous close of 669.85 on the BSE.

We are  expecting  Infosys to upgrade lower end of revenue guidance band and expect it to guide for 7-8 % revenue growth against the 6-8 % earlier. The company has announced a slew of deals over the past few months and hence we expect continued confidence in revenue momentum.TCS and Infosys will report their financial results for the October-December period on Thursday and Friday respectively. 

Infosys (2.84%), Axis Bank (1.52%), Tata Motors (1.25%) and Maruti (1.22%) were the top  gainers.

Top  losers were Tata Steel (0.40%), IndusInd Bank (0.39%), and YES Bank (0.52%).

The Titan Company rose in trade today after the Tata Group firm said it expects the full-year growth in jewellery business to be around 22 percent. The stock rose intra day 3.82% to 964 level compared to its previous close of 928.55. YES Bank (2.48%), Tata Motors (2.64%) and SBIN(3.10%) were the top Sensex gainers. Top Sensex losers were Bajaj Auto (2.82%), and Hero MotoCorp (1.11%),ZEEL(2.99%).

The sensex ended at 35,850, up 155 points,while Nifty settled at 10,772, up 44 points .YES bank was trading 1.37% higher  at 192.10 level ahead of its board meeting to finalise the name of its CEO and MD on January 9 . Among the  IT companies  rose 1.1 % led by MindTree, Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services. Bandhan Bank and Gruh Finance fell around 5% of a merger between the two. Bandhan Bank and Housing Development Finance Corporation controlled Gruh Finance are set to merge through a share swap deal. Bandhan Bank fell 5.2 % to end the day at Rs 501 . Gruh Finance slipped 4.5% to settle at Rs 304. Tata Motors (up 3.63%), Maruti Suzuki India (up 2.23%), Escorts (up 1.06%), Eicher Motors (up 0.60%) and Mahindra & Mahindra (up 0.17%), were the  top gainer. TVS Motor Company (down 0.29%), Hero MotoCorp (down 0.86%), Bajaj Auto (down 2.13%) and Ashok Leyland (down 3.1%),were the  top losers.
