There
was a strong boom in market today.Market began the final full trading
week of August on a strong note, ending near the highest point of the day. The
Nifty closed around 11475 with a century today. Banknifty ended as the outperformer in today's session, with
gains of 2.4%. Gains were largely led by private banks like HDFC Bank, ICICI
Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank. Most other sectoral indices remained flat or
rangebound. In other side Realty was the top sectoral laggard, ending 1% lower
while the Pharma and I.T. indices fell 0.4% and 0.3% respectively.At the end of
business, the Sensex rose 364 points to close at 38,799 today. At the same
time, the Nifty climbed 95 points to close at 11,466. Bank Nifty climbed 533
points to close at 22,833. Today RELIANCE, HDFC TWINS and KOTAK BANK was active stocks.
